Green Tea Catechin EGCG in Down Syndrome, but Autism? and Cerebrolysin

In a recent comment a reader from Poland highlighted the popularity there of a drug called cerebrolysin to treat autism and Down syndrome.   It turns out that this treatment in also widespread in the former Soviet Union. Green tea as a source of Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) Cerebrolysin is a mixture of peptides purified from pig brains, including   brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), nerve growth factor (NGF), and ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF).
