Many autism parents think their child has SIBO and give them probiotics, among other therapies. Unless there is a consistently reliable diagnostic test that is affordable and widely available, you inevitably get the situation where patients are convinced that they have a condition (SIBO, PANS/PANDAS, Fibromyalgia etc) while their local doctor thinks it is all in their imagination.
